Penulis Redding, a resident of South Carolina, battles bipolar disorder, memory deficits, and cognitive impairment. His oral health had also severely deteriorated, leaving him in constant pain and making eating a difficult task. Formerly in sales, Redding now struggles to make ends meet on a small Social Security Disability benefit and paying for his much-needed dental care was entirely out of the question.
Thankfully, through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program, Redding has been able to receive treatment from DLN • South Carolina Leadership Council member Dr. Jeff Gardner since 2010. Along with Dr. Gardner, volunteers endodontist Dr. Mark Hauser, periodontist Dr. Jeff Laro, Glidewell Laboratories, Nobel Biocare, Restorative Dental Arts, and Zimmer Dental all came to his aid.
