Cedar Valley Dental Lab, volunteer since 2006, has provided more than $29,000 in fabrications, helping 65 people!

Dr. Lindsay Brown, a general dentist in Marion, has been a DDS volunteer since the program started in 2005. He has treated 14 patients and provided over $70,000 in donated care!

Dr. Leslie Ehlen (pictured left, with Dr. Hettinger) was present at the awards ceremony to receive the Outstanding New DDS Volunteer Award. Dr. Ehlen is a general dentist in Clive. Dr. Chris Cowherd brought Dr. Ehlen on board last year, and she’s already completed a huge case of extractions, immediate full upper denture, lower partial and reline for a donation of 15 hours work and nearly $10,000 in donated treatment value!

Dr. Brian Turnquist is a prosthodontist in West Des Moines, and has been a DDS Volunteer since 2009. He has seen five DDS patients, complex cases with approximately 40 hours in donated time, and has provided an estimated $40,000 in donated treatment.

Together, 255 volunteer dentists and 40 volunteer dental labs have provided $4.7 million in donated care to 1,362 people in need since 2005. Patients include people with disabilities or those who are elderly or medically fragile and have no other way to pay for much needed dental treatment.
